Avdel Textron steel Avtainer high performance pins for the Avtainer pin and shell fastening system. This superior high quality two part fastener system comprises of a pin with a defined breakneck groove and a collar. The Avtainer system is quiet and simple to install creating a high performance and high strength fastening with excellent vibration resistance. Avtainers were specifically designed for joining plywood or GRP to metal framing without damaging the softer material or pulling through. The Avdel Avtainer also includes an integral moisture resistant seal to combat water ingress. They are used throughout industry especially within the Commercial vehicle, Container and Partitioning sectors.

Installation requires access from both sides of the material. The pin is inserted into the prepared hole and a shell placed over the locking grooves. The nose of the lock bolt fixing tool is placed over the pin tail and the trigger pressed. The jaws of the tool pull on the pull grooves of the pin clamping the joint tight before the shell is swaged into the locking grooves. Finally the pintail breaks at a pre-determined load leaving the finished joint.

Avtainer pins and shells have predefined grip ranges so when ordering please ensure the total thickness of the materials fall within the grip range of the pin.
